When I recently tried to replace the "dead" HD for my Pavilion zv6000, I was surprised to find that HP doesn't sell parts for this model anymore. I was fortunate in that I found a compatible HD for a lot less than I expected and it works fine. Now I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and need at least a 1g CPU. I presently have a Sempron 3200+ which is a bit slow. I need to find a compatible CPU. Can anyone recommend a processor and where to look for it. Information on any "Gotchas" to look out for would be greatly appreciated.?

I think a memory upgrade would be a more sensible move.

Or just buy another laptop with the hardware you want in it. .
