Just doing some prelim. research on viability of upgrading processor on HP Pavilion 9694c with AMD Athlon 800 on KM-7 board rev. 1.04 Window XP. Considering other notes posted, it may not be worth doing this although friends have said the speed increase would be significant. What all is involved in this project? Possibly easier and less expensive to just get new board and processor combo? Will existing drives and perifs. plug into this option without much trouble?
