Hi! Just joined here and looking for some spot on advice. I am a novice with computers but am having fun on a sharp learning curve. Can anyone help??.
I have just aquired an AMD K6 2 500AFX cpu to go into my old M571LMR motherboard. Can you give advice on how to set this up to get the best out of it?? Can I get a BIOS update from somewhere and how do I install it?? How do I set the processor up in the Bios to get the best from it??

For starters, you can run that K6-2 500 with the M571 jumpered at 2.0x (which the CPU will 'translate' to mean 6.0x), and 75 MHz for the FSB.
This will give you 450 MHz, (not perfect, but a very good start), and if you ask at that other Forum, they'll tell you how to get 500 MHz out of it.
