I am wondering if anybody can help me and answer my question.

I have a relatively old system with a 8GB HD which I am looking to replace but what size Hard Disk is an AMDK62-500MHz processor able to support?

It's the BIOS that controls that, not the CPU.

What board fo you have there?

Please post your BIOS ID string.

I have a Gigabyte motherboard (GA-5AX F4) and when starting up my PC it says the BIOS is 'Award Modular Bios 4.51PG'

Im not too technical so I think this is what you were asking me for?

When you start the machine, there should be a long string of numbers at the bottom (BIOS ID string), and near the top, there should be some other text (BIOS ID info).

Hit the pause key and copy those down...post them here.

It looks like the F4 BIOS (2001/8/23) is good to 64GB...
