I have a spare motherboard (Magic-Pro MP-7VIP-AX2) that accepts Athlon or Duron processor and FSB of 266 MHz (No DDR memory). I am looking for a low-cost CPU for the board to setup my second desktop PC. What models are available to me? Can I use Sempron or just Duron given that Athlon (Thunderbird) is already out of the market?

Semprons are for 166/333MHz FSB, do not bother with them for that motherboard.

The second one should support Athlon XPs, whereas the first one probably doesn't. If you've got the second motherboard, then an Athlon XP 2400+ would probably be the best CPU for it. A 1.3GHz Duron or 1GHz+ Athlon Thunderbird for the first.

I wonder if this Magic-Pro is an alias for PCChips. Their website is full of flash animations and uncompressed images.

They seem to be rebadging someone's motherboards, although I haven't been able to match any with PCCHIPS yet. There sure are a bunch of them. Maybe they buy from more than one manufacturer.
