I recently upgraded my BIOS information. The BIOS shows the cpu at 500 MHz but a third party program only rates the unit capable of reaching a top speed of 350 MHZ, ANY THOUGHTS AS TO WHY. Can I speed up this unit? If so How?

When I reset the motherboard jumpers (RedFox AGP-ALI with an ALI M1541 ver. 4 Chip Set) to read the CPU at 550MHz the machine continually loops the starting process and won't allow me to get into Windows. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that you have the FSB at the right speed?

don't rely too much on what some software tells you...if the CPU is detected with its correct speed on POST, you can be pretty sure it will actually run at that speed.

What Window$-version are you using? IIRC, there were problems with win95 because K6-2 CPUs clocked at 350MHz or faster were actually executing some code too fast
