I understand that the AMD K6 and K6-2 processors have RISC86 technology. I can't find any information about the later processors having this technology. I would guess the K7 and K8 processors have related technology. I could not find this on the processor white pages.

They are RISC aswell, AFAIK.

Read the tech docs, especially the excellent code optimization pdf.

K7 & K8 have a similar system to the K6 except ithey use "macro-ops". The K8 has "pick and pack" stages in the pipeline to ensure that maximum use of the execution units by groups of macro-ops.
