I have an Aopen ak73pro motherboard. I am certain that the processor is going bad (AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.0ghz). Anytime I do any processor intensive operations, like encode video or burn cd/dvd's my computer blue screens (used to restart until I changed the settings in XP). I have swapped out every piece of hardware in my computer except for the processor or motherboard. I am building a new system soon but I would like to keep my current system as a second computer. I need a source to buy an Athlon thunderbird with a 200mhz Front side bus. I see 1.33 athlons available but they have a higher frontside bus and I don't know if they will work with my Aopen AK73pro mb. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

You can always undeclock a T-bred , IT Works with a lower FSB
Axp 2400+ works very well @2x100FSB and clocked only at 1Ghz
At least on a nforce2 system .
Maybe after a bios update the cpu can be recognized as an axp2400+
You can try it and if it doesn't work RMA it to something lower.
