I just installed Diablotek Radeon 9800 XL 128MB AGP w/dual VGA in my system running Windows XP Pro service pack 3. I was able to set the card up with out any trouble using Catalyst Control Center--however, everytime I re-boot, the system defaults to a monitor resolution of 640X480. Its no big deal to reset the rosolution after each re-boot back to my preferred setting but the problem is that along with the resolution shift at boot-up, my desk-top icons are scattered helter-skelter from where I initially placed them.

Hi and welcome to the forum
Sounds to me like you have remnants of the old driver causing a conflict with the new drivers.
What was the old video card?
Does your motherboard have built in VGA?
If so make sure the BIOS is set to checking the AGP slot first

My old Video card was a MATROX G450 AGP with Dual VGA.
No, my mother board does not have resident VGA support.

Is there a setting in the registry for max monitor resolution that may be set too low??
