K7VTA3 MoBo,Duron Proc 1600+Bios Ver Award Ver 6.00PG 9/22/03. Dev Mgr Shows Sound Video & Game Controller is VIA AC97 Enhanced Audio Controller, Properties: Driver VIA Technologies Ver 3.503 installed , VIA Service Pack Ver 4.49 Rel 8/18/03 installed and shows working correctly with no conflicts.
Try to play WAV or CD Files and get the following error messages:
Wave output V 2.02a error. Unsupported PCM format (11025Hz, 8 Bits per sample, 1 channel. Please change format settings in input plug in configuration or change output device in wave out plug in configuration
Error Code 32, Windows error message "MMSystem032". The specified format cannot be translated or supported.. Use the capabilities function to view supported format.

Make any sense to anyone our there. I am using headphones in the line output jack
In Control Panel, Multimedia properties\Audio is all greyed out. (Cannot show volume control in task bar. MIDI & Video are OK
AIDA32, Multimedia shows Windows Audio: Nothing, All Greyed out. PCI, PnP Audio VIA AC97 Enhanced Audio Controller.

To make a long story short: NO SOUND.

Maybe try the latest VIA 8233' ">http://www.ecsusa.com/download...ers_sound.html#via8233 codec drivers for your sound.
