How would I determine the max amount of memory that i can upgrade on my friends computer ?
k6 266 mHz
currently has 48 mb memory

This thing is old and it's hard to research.

Any suggestions besides getting a new computer?

How do i check what kind of motherboard i have? that information would probably help me determine if i can upgrade the cpu and memory.

Went to ibm website not able to find the specs on how much memory the board cans support. Is there any where I can look on the computer to get this information?

Please use the -button if you forgot to post something or want to add additional info/questions rather than making multiple posts in a row

You can either search the manufacturers' website(if you have the exact model no. of your machine) or use a sysinfo utility like SiSoft Sandra or AIDA32/AIDA16(search on google) to identify your hardware.
