I've moved on again from a (socket A) to a (socket 754) Asus K8V SE Deluxe Sempron 64 2800+ @ 2Ghz 1 Gb PC3200 Ram Maxtor 80 GB HDD Seagate 40 GB HDD Abit Ati radean 9600 XT (Guru) Samsung TS-H 552 Writemaster Q Tec 550W Dual fan PSU Can't overclock anymore because my mobo hasn't got any working PCI/AGP locks and hasn't any PCI/AGP divisors. Therfore when I increase my HT Freq my PCI/AGP bus is way out of spec. My HT Freq is at 250 x 8 (2000) which is a 400 overclock but my AGP Freq is 83 and my PCI Freq is 41 which is way to much but my computer is stable (Prime 95, Toast, Heavy load) 20 hours. I wish I could do somethin about the PCI/AGP Freq's as I know my cpu will overclock to around 2400 Mhz. I think i'll have to get a different mobo (NForce chipset)

keep in mind that as long as you can keep your CPU cool enough it cant get hot enough to burn, but then you do have to worry about mosfetts going out...
im going to go 939 with an X2 some time soon.
cowen, i recomend the lanparty NF3 board, it may be costly but people are managing overclocks past 3Ghz on that board...

@Charlie Take a look at this' ">http://www.ebuyer.com/customer...duct_uid=86394&_LOC=UK for me. Is this the mobo you recommend? Does this mobo have AGP/PCI locks/divisors? As i'm finding it hard to find a (skt 754) mobo that has /mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif' /> I'm thinking of building an A64 (939) system after xmas but for now i'm going to max out this one, so I need to get a more solid mobo. Speak to you soon old friend /wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

@Charlie Thanks for the advice on the mobo. I found this' ">http://www.ocworkbench.com/200...LP-UT-nF3-250Gb/g1.htm review on it and it has everything that I need. I'm going to get one. I'll keep you posted on the performance. Cheers. /wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

Maybe, but I had an old Skt A one once, died after 2 months, bought a Chaintech 7NJL3 and never had a problem.

well, those above screenies was on a $30 DFI board... the DFI lanpartys have made as high as 3.2Ghz\270Mhz FSB in the extreme cases. acording to sandra im beating a FX-51 like a little kid and matching a FX-55, a FX-55 slightly out preforms mine in arithmatic benchmarks though. to be a $30 board i think that says alot for DFI, dont you? also keep in mind that the world record 3Dmark05 uses a lanparty!
