My friend owns a Asrock k7S41GX with AMD XP 2000, 256MB of DDR Ram(Elixer chips), 80GB Seagate HDD 350W PSU. The PC is running on Windows XP. It was working well, till last Saturday, when it started to restart automatically after awhile. It happened, while he was surfing. He did a clean install of XP just now, but the problem persisted.
The system would automatically restart after a few minutes, and sometime shows that Power Management, Frequency out of range. After this Power Management, at POST screen, it will state that CMOS checksum error, even though a new CMOS battery was used. However, the rates this happened is about 10% of the total reboots. It will normally just restart, without prompting him. The PC would just start up for just a few minutes and it will just restart as if someone press on the reset button.
Blue screen appeared just, with Memory Dump and physical Memory error. This only appear today. The system would normally restart after a few minutes, with the longest being 30minutes. He tried running the System in safemode to check for Virus, but it will still restart, before the virus scan ended, about 45minutes.
The front USB also fail to detect his USB adsl Modem, which was only solve when it was plug into the back USB ports.
