According to AOpen's CPU-Support list
' ">http://swe.aopen.com.tw/testre...Function=442&Model=305, your motherboard seems to support only CPUs up to 1GHz...however, if you look at their BIOS-page
' ">http://download.aopen.com.tw/d...=AK33&Language=English for the AK33, you will notice that it says 'Support 1.4GHz CPU' as of BIOS-version R1.23 QUOTE
# Checksum 4FD7h
# Adds "Drive B" support in Setup.
# Supports 1.4GHz CPU.
# Solves installation failure of Win98 OPK
# Fixes detection error of some certain AGP cards.
# Adds DRAM Driving Strength item in Setup.
Based on that info, i'd say a 1.4GHz Athlon Thunderbird should work without problems.
Just make sure you update your BIOS to the latest version before
you upgrade the CPU...also, make sure you get an Athlon T-Bird 'B', i.e. a 100MHz(DDR200) FSB-version - OPN: A1400AMS3B
Your motherboard/chipset DOES NOT support a 133MHz FSB.
