Well this week i've bought a AMD Duron 800 mhz from a friend of mine with a abit KT7A motherboard. I was planning to use it for my bro since he had a slow PC.
I've constructed the whole pc but now when i turn on the power its beeping for 5 seconds and then it powers of. Do you guys have any idea what can be the problem? Graphics card is working, Ram also and i dont know whats wrong. I do know that when i feel at my CPU after it shuts down it is hot.

Please help me!
Dimitri

How many beeps in sequence? And how hot exactly is hot.

Say if you touch the processor's heatsink, can you actually hold your finger there or as in most cases of a near-death hot pc,is your finger crispy after 2 nanoseconds of touching the damned thing?

1 long beep for 5 seconds with no stopt.
I cant keep my finger on it for 1 sec but i've tested the cpu with my new computer and it works fine. I can get into the bios and the pc health status says 30 degrees there so i think the cpu isn't broken but rather my mobo.
