When I run hotCPU tester 4, I get an error every time it tests Fast Fourier Transforms. I get the same error when running 3DMark03 and certain other 3D games or applications. HotCPU says the error is either

Exception error:CPU 0: Exception ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at address 0x00428997
Exception error:CPU 0: Exception ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at address 0x004288aa
Error FFT:CPU 0: Error FFT checksums do not match ChkSum1=-867239,ChkSum2=1.#INF
or other slight variations
The problem sometimes causes an error in the program, closing it. Other times, it causes the computer to restart, and Microsoft Online Crash analysis says the problem is: STOP 0X00000076 - PROCESS HAS LOCKED PAGES .

I have had the problem for a year now, and never knew what it was. Since then, I have changed everything in the computer, including operating system, except for the cpu. All drivers and updates are latest available.
What could be wrong with my processor? Is there a work-around? Is there any way to send it back to AMD?
