Hewwo. The leopard is new here and needs some help. I hope I am posting in the right place. I have looked around alot and can't seem to find what i need. I have a motherboard from around 1996-1997 and it is missing the on board battery. A friend told me that it is just for the clock, but I don't want to use it without all the parts on it. Can anyone help me out?
it's your CMOS-battery...without it, ALL settings/changes you made in BIOS will be lost when you turn off your comp. Is there a socket to hold a round battery with a diameter of about 2cm? If so, you should be able to use the standard 3V batteries that are used on all mobos these days.
