I have an old Socket 7 Micro-Star motherboard MS-5156 and I want to put an AMD K6 2 300 in it. Are these compatible and if so what are the jumper and Dip switch settings ??.

Your mobo has the intel i430TX-chipset. For all i could find out, the maximum FSB supported on your mobo is 75MHz - the K6-2 300MHz has a 100MHz FSB, so i don't think it will work.
The fastest CPU supported by this mobo is a K6 266MHz(75x3.5) with latest BIOS(which you can get here' ">http://www.msi.com.tw/program/...bos_detail.php?UID=215)
