I found this in the general forums at k6plus.com Posted: Tue Sep 02, 2003 by TA152H:
In case any of you are interested, I found someone that is selling brand new Tyan Trinity S1598C2 Motherboards. From what he told me, he has quite a few of them and can sell them in bulk if anyone needs them.
For those not immediately familiar with this motherboard, I would emphasize that it is excellent and the most modern Super 7 motherboard available. The "C2" suffix indicates it comes with a full 2 MB L2 cache. This is particulary important for those with more than 128MB and 256MB, as the 2MB L2 cache can cache up to 512MB of RAM, as opposed to 128MB and 256MB for the 512K and 1MB, respectively. The Northbridge is the standard MVP3, but the southbridge is the newer 686 version. To my knowledge, this is the only MVP3 motherboard that used the newer southbridge.
I suspect most of you guys are having a terrible time finding a good motherboard for Socket 7 these days; I know I did. Things will only get worse too. This is why I was so excited when I saw this one on sale, which is arguably the best made. Like I mentioned, they are new! If you are going to stick with your beloved K6 for a while, this is something you will want to look into.
Anyway, his email address is Mitsubishi0uk@hotmail.com, if you want to buy them off of him.
P.S. This is not an advertisement, as I get nothing if you guys buy them from him. I was just really excited to find this item and thought
some of you would be too."
I just got a reply about the availability of these Motherboards.
He has 30+ left!
I had the e-mail address wrong, (I use external mail), TA152H helped me out:
(That's a Zero not a Capital O)
Thanks Again TA152H!!!
P.S. He gave me a price of £20 each with £25 for shipping to the U.S.A. Midwest, ymmv. Good Luck. This is not an advertisement, as I also get nothing if you guys buy them from him. I was just really excited to find this item and thought some of you would be too.
