hi, ive got an old 1.2 ghz althon, A1200AMS3B
and my motherboard died on my computer... but i can get a new motherboard that has a 200mhz fsb for it to work with this processor right?
Also, i think i read somewhere on this amd site, that this processor will only work with 'PC1600 DDR memory' at the most. Is this so? or will it work with bit better ram?

Hi, nearly any Socket A motherboard can handle your CPU and 100/200MHz FSB. You can still buy these.

The processor isn't limited to PC1600 DDR memory, that is wrong.

Socket A motherboards take either SDRAM or DDR RAM.
Your current RAM should physically say on it which type it is.

PC100 and PC133 = SDRAM

A brand new motherboard won't take PC100 / PC133 SDRAM, as only older motherboards support it.

If you've got DDR RAM rated from PC1600 or higher, it'll work fine with 100/200MHz FSB if the motherboard supports DDR RAM.

I write 100/200MHz FSB because what they call "200MHz FSB" is actually 100MHz FSB dual channel.

If you want to buy new RAM, PC3200 is alright because it runs at PC1600 speed just fine.
