Read through the previous posting on this combo, but since I bought the M811LU and a Duron 1.8 -- and mine won't boot...I need to get input on the basics from you expert AMD'ers. Mine actually did boot ONCE, got video, and then nothing. Afterward, no video, no beep codes...even with system unloaded, even with no memory, or no video card at all. According to PC CHIPS "tech support", the M811LU does not support ANY Duron with 266 FSB, even though it supports other Duron's at 200FSB and XP's at 266FSB. Other websites "suggest" but do not explicitly state that booting with any other compatible CPU and then flashing the BIOS with PC CHIPS latest BIOS for the board will allow a Duron at 266FSB ---- but I've found nothing "official" about this....this is only hearsay. Can anyone verify this for me??

unless you're able to find a modded BIOS, you're out of luck. The Applebred Durons were an odd lot, the last to carry the name before AMD released the Sempron as it's value line. The M811LU isn't the only board that doesn't support them despite supporting Thoroughbred Athlon XP's (on which the 266fsb Durons were based).
