I have a K6-II -350 in an IBM Aptiva and my CPU fan is dying a slow, loud, grinding death. My motherboard only supports 2-pin fans. Does anyone know where to find such a dinosaur ? Please help !

Take the fan off, blow out all the dirt, and lube it up with a drop or two of light oil. If it was a good quality fan to begin with, it should be fine.

If you need to buy a new one, just conect the power pins...the "tach" pin is not required.

From memory doesn't that require the removal of the motherboard header socket r/t pin orientation? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="<_<" border="0" alt="dry.gif" />

A few suggestions...

* get a fan that is powered of a molex connector here's one @ NewEGG for $4.99 USD

OR

* replace HsF combo with a friend's discarded (stock) socketA cooler & fan (hopefully FREE! )
