AMD chip sets tend to me more sound and OC higher then Nvidia chip set = true
AMD chip set and AMD CPU run flawless with Nvidia GPU = true

ok, if you are given an option like :
1. phenom 955 BE with 750 fx motherboard with gtx 260
2. phenom 955 BE with 980a motherboard with gtx 260..
what would u chose?
would you wish to take any amd gfx cards into picture? go ahead..
I currently own a amd 6000+ on an asus m2n32 sli deluxe motherboard with 4 gb corsair xms2 ram and gtx 260..
what would be my "best" upgrade path?

so you say, I could safely buy a 955 BE with a asus m4n82 deluxe and be "happy thereafter" ?
will I have no regrets for not taking amd 750 fx boards?
will it perform better than 750 fx boards or atleast equal to it?

if not pass it.
980a is a decent chip set and newer tech then the 750 FX.

absolutely NOT.
AMD locked them for a reason. They failed and where locked down and sold as a dual.
But giving your getting the AM2+ DDR 2 setup get the 940 BE bud its Identical to there 955 clock for clock.

I have a m2n32 sli deluxe from ASUS
but, if I go 940 with this m2n 32 sli motherboard, am I losing something?
or is t a worthy upgrade?
or should I change the mobo too?

IMO I try to match the MB chipset with GFX being used.
A matched chipset and gfx card will give you a 2%-5% gain in gaming.
If your MB dosent preform well replace it. Im not sure if your MB supports the 940
the ASUS site is down at the moment
you may have to update your bios for the 940.

ya, i have confirmed from various sources (unofficial) that 940 BE is used on this board, after flashing to 2205 or higher bios.. asus says it doesn't support, but the 2205 bios supports..
look at this :
http://www.overclock.net/amd-m...i-m2n32-sli-club.html
but I am afraid, I'll be losing the 4ghz htt and the overclocking capabilities.. what say?
then what is the worthy upgrade right now?
1. buy an 955 BE with amd chipset + ddr 3 ram and stay with gtx 260?
2. buy a 940 BE with current setup?
3. dont buy anything right now ?
4. how about buying a 955 with some low end 780a mobo and changing when there is a better chance? (in about 4 or 5 months ?)

my take
get the 260 GTX 216 proc and 940 BE with decent after market cooling and try it out on your board first.
Then get a new board if needed.

No need to get a new motherboard unless you have to.

seems right to me too
thank you
just wanted to make sure, that I am not losing anything by keeping the same mobo.
because, if it happens like , I buy a 940 BE and if that doesn't go too well with this board, then i'll feel I could have bought a 955 BE with new mobo altogether..
