Hi,

I'm making a clean installation on my machine with a M4A78T-E motherboard, containing the 790GX chipset. Im always a bit paranoid when it comes to a clean install. I alwayws follow the same ritual, and if only óne bug shows upp i start over again. So yes i'm a really sick perfectionist :-)

Now the m4a78t-e chipset thing is driving me crazy

On the Asus website i will find a 300 mb file (outdated) installer. It include a lot of extra , what i think is not needed.

A newer package is on the amd site: http://game.amd.com/us-en/driv...p/integrated-xp

It say's south bridge driver is included. But when i do a avarage installition i can mark what i want to install. And south bridge isn;t there?

Can somebody please tell me how i must install the chipset up to date?

edit. When is want to install everything seperate: Gart driver does nothing when i startup the setup....

Just get the chipset driver for your board from the ASUS website.
If it's the AMD all-in-one package, it will only intall the drivers that are needed.
In most cases, it's the south bridge driver that would be installed on XP.
If I recall, a AMD north bridge filter driver is installed on Vista & Win 7.

After a fresh install of the OS, always install the chipset driver first, then the video, sound, etc.
