I'm about a year old to the custom pc building scene. Just got a new box of goodies from Tiger (( http://i309.photobucket.com/al...64/93PgTT/SANY0798.jpg )) Then once I had it assembled(( http://i309.photobucket.com/al...64/93PgTT/SANY0809.jpg )) I flashed the bios with the latest MSI version. And for some reason... under optimal default settings it sets my core clock at 3.9... (( http://i309.photobucket.com/al...k364/93PgTT/Testz2.jpg )) The multiplier is correct but each core is clocked at 230mhz instead of 200.. And I CANNOT get it back to 200.. The thing is stable..dont know how. memory seems to be running slower then dog crap sliding on velcro for 12800 stuff. Anyways any tips on setting this up correctly would GREAT I mean I'd love a bit of an O'C' but I'd rather have stability. It is a gaming machine. Thanks and much appreciated!!

965 C2 on a 790gx g65 msi board

welcome to the forum.
you are going to have a hard time running the 140watt 965 on that motherboard.

i tried to run the 140w 965 on a MSI 785gx MB and i couldnt get it stable.
MSI said a 140w cpu will work-but after 4 days of trying i couldnt get it working.

i think it is due to the 4 pin power and not the 8 pin (like the higher end FX MBs have)

so you need to get a 125watt 965 or a 8 pin MB

this is my expereance with the 4 pin MBs-you might have better luck
