I did not have to force it. I downloaded the Cat 10.9 AHCI driver and it installs just like normal:

Yeah, but you specifically selected that particular driver for download. When you initially downloaded for the test (and got the old non-trim driver) I'm assuming that you just installed it using the full set of 10.10 cats and that maybe the cat installer chose the older ahci driver based on the chipset it saw.

No... when I first did my tests, the CAT 10.10 AHCI driver was the one on the website... when you brought up the potential for TRIM, I went back to get the older 10.9, but to my surprise 10.10 was gone and now only 10.9 AHCI is listed, even though we are now at CAT 10.11 for everything else. So no I did not specifically search for that driver... it is the one you get when you download the chipset drivers for Win7 x64. Nothing is forced, nothing is hunted down... it is the driver you get when you get AHCI now.

Rage3D is the only website I've seen that claims to have some form of "Official" confirmation from AMD. Looks to me like the OCZ discussion is "I heard from a friend of a friend that.... " with a little bit of "we'd like to comment but can't because of a mutual NDA" thrown in for good measure.

Either way, it sounds like the issue finally got some recognition.

Well I hate to be rude, but if AMD would just put out changelogs and release notes and all that good stuff then we wouldn't have to just conjecture and test their random drivers that you have to go to game.amd.com to download FFS

I understand that AMD does not want to comment on their lack of trim in AHCI as it will surely have an impact on sales.

The flip side of this coin though, is that AMD's silence on this issue and the aggrevation that it is causing to loyal AMD customers (such as myself) is just as certainly going to push people to purchase other than AMD.
