hi

i just finished installing kubuntu on my dell vostro 3555, updated and so on

it took me some time to get the video driver ok (finnaly downloaded catalyst 11.9 from AMD)
and even if now i have a correct display (1366 x 768), i do not have any sound !

when i access the multimedia controls in the configuration center, i have :

-hd audio generic (hda generic)
-hd audio generic (ati hdmi )
-hd audio generic, ati hdmi (hdmi audio output)
-jack audio connection kit

mixer shows only two tabs :

hd audio generic (iec958, hardly visible)
hd audio generic (master, 100%)

pointer on the hp icon shows : "volum 0%"



do anybody have an idea please ?

PS also cannot get the catalyst control center to work as admin. Only as regular user. it is not a password problem...
