hello
i have the gigabyte ma790xt-ud4p motherboard (chipset amd 790x and SB 750)
I want install windows 7-64 bit in the new ssd crucial m4.
But i would not know the exact procedure for the driver amd.

1 it must use the pre-install driver ahci? (F6 in the install?)

2 when the SO is install, which driver go installed?
only the first and the third party in this page?

Interesting thread that Canis. Will have to try that next time I install now I have UEFI.

Jody, the only driver you need to worry about during install is a raid driver afaik. If you don't have raid just go ahead and install and Windows should take care of everything for you. Just remember to set AHCI in the bios before doing so.

i'm not have the raid, but only one ssd for the SO
yes, before i'm setting in the bios ahci mode for the sata port's

i'm not convinced for the driver..ok windows 7 install driver generic microsoft...but it is not better if i install the SB driver amd and the ahci driver amd...??
(when the SO is installed)
