Now, I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ on an ASRock ALiveXFire-eSATA2 motherboard (http://www.asrock.com/mb/overv...l=ALiveXFire-eSATA2).
I'd like to know which is the AMD processor the fastest/the most recent I can install on this motherboard (so, without having to change it).

Hi,

The most recent for that board would be the C3 revision processors in below link. The most powerful would be the Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition.

There are a few Phenom II releases after that latest(3.5) BIOS from Asrock, chances are some of them will work anyway, but no guarantee.

However, I read it is compatible with DDR2 1066MHz, and I have 800MHz RAM... Will it be functionnal?

Yes it will. The RAM will be set to 800MHz if autodetect is enabled in BIOS.
