Another anomaly that occurs with all the versions of the driver I've mentioned in my previous post:
I have a PCMCIA sound card (Echo Indigo IO), and when the laptop is booted with the card inserted, then the built-in Realtek sound card will become 'unidentified' in the Device Manager. And I can't make it install it's own drivers, since it won't accept them!
If I reboot without the external card inserted, then all is well. In that case, both sound cards are identified by the computer if I insert the external card later.
It is interesting how there's a conflict between the SATA and PCMCIA controllers with the AMD drivers installed...
I understand that this bug is more irrelevant and also harder to diagnose, but I thought I'd mention it anyway
