My bro is using a Linksys router and cable modem (don't know the exact spec) and is too lazy to ask around for a solution to his problem. Anyhow, for some reason, the cable modem disconnects itself several times a day even when data is still being actively transferred (thus, no idle). After many many tries with tech support, flash updates, and the like, still no go. Linksys tech support said it's something with the cable company themselves. Could it be something on their end or is there something to set on the router/cable modem? And on the router, auto-connect has already been re-enabled. As for the cable modem itself, my bro can't figure out how to access the setup features (but he can do it with the router). Anyhow, I don't like with the dude so I can't get the most solid details, but that's the gist of things.
Any suggestions?
