I am wanting to add wireless capabilities to my lan I have the netgear DG834 and want to add a wireless router/Access point or do I just need the router ? so Laptop can have access to the net. The laptop has wi-fi G. I was looking at this one but I don't seems to be reading to many good things about it or any one I look at /sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' />

well theres two things you can do here. You can a wireless access point, what this does is add a wireless signal to a wired router, you connect an ethernet cable to the wired router, that then goes to the ap.

Second thing which I suggest is to just buy a new wireless router, it will be cheaper most likely. Watch the ads this weekend, especially because monday is 4th of july. You can probably find a cheap router. I personally like Netgear, Motorola and Dlink Wireless G routers.

Yeah thought that was all I needed was the wireless router, now any specific models that you know of that are reliable.

Think I may have found one I like the sound of not sure if I want to spend that much on a router though.

Now which ever one I buy I will need to set the WAN as DMZ correct because what ever I buy will have nat and spi and if I get the d link one ports are set up for gameing and I wouldn't want the DG834 blocking them.
