I currently have one computer hooked up via cable through a router. I would like to implement wireless technology for a future labtop and for my PSP. Can I just buy a WAP or should I switch out my wired router for a wireless one?
Wireless technology is one of the few IT areas I have yet to educate myself with, and I've gotten so much help from this forum that I figured it was the best place to ask.

Depending on how good your current router is, i would just buy a wireless router which is really a router, switch and wap all in one. They are about the same price so you might as well get all in one. I use the Linksys WRT54G and I like it a lot. A WAP might have more options for security though. I'm not positive on that though so might be something to check out. Whatever you do stay away from Netgear. Have nothing but problems with those things.
