Now that we have our own room set up it is going to be time to start playing. First things first will be stock scores. For 15 days we will take submissions of stock runs, Starting July 6th.
Let me clearify what "Stock" means. Stock does not mean that you go ingot BIOS and "Reset to factory defaults," but that your CPU is at the stock speed. (ie 3400 Mhz +/- 50 Mhz) If you have a dual core and have it unlocked to a quad, you may keep it a quad, just leave it that way for the next session when we overclock. Maybe the next time you want to run as a dual core and see the difference in scores. You may overclock anything else in your system, but keep in mind some things change your CPU's frequencies, and so you may have to drop the multi to get back into "Stock" specs.
Tools of an overclocker:
Camera
Notebook, and a pencil
We will be revisiting thees settings again so be sure you write down what you did, even if it didn't work, because that information will come in very handy.
In the mean time take some time to read the Rules for the drills, so you know what is going to be asked of ya, and read the guides that will be showing up in a day or so. They will help you to understand more about what we are doing, and some possible solutions to problems.
Have fun!!!
