Or emoticons gone wrong. I ended a reply with an emoticona nd I accidently hit the ' key beside the Enter key. Well I can't edit to fix my reply. I just get the 404 error. I can get that also with a messed up link.

I'm just emailed Fusetalk directly to see if they can shed light on the issue. I'll wait and see what they have to say. Watch this space.

It should be ok. I have Overmind's robots and the Borg protecting it from the guide ghost, lol.

Can anyone that had a guide disappear please post to say whether you edited after posting it on any occasion please. Also if you ever got any funny error messages while posting them.

Fusetalk are wanting a little more info on the matter to help with their research into the issue.

Thanks.

i edit mine every now and then to fix typos, update info (such as Phenom and drivers) and add more videos and better technical details.
I had a problem editing it a few times and returned erros. I found it didn't like the specific links to AMD files for download, so I just list the drivers page for Athlons and Phenoms now. The next time I return an error or bug, I'll take a screen shot and post it here along with what I was doing to get that error. Thanks a bunch!

At one point I posted a relatively simple guide with links...no errors & no issues except it disappeared in 3 days.

I know. Have one of the FuseTalk gurus register and author a guide on how to create a guide that "sticks."

Thanks Porscheracer14, that would be very helpful. I just need kazgirl to confirm now I think. I notice her guide have disappeared again.

I take it the error you see most is the "URL not specified" one?

@Fizzbang, it's not the guide content or size that matters. This is happening to any post made after the transfer it seems. Posts that were brought over from the old forum seem to be immune to this problem. I take it you did not edit yours after posting then?

HI TLH,

I just noticed that both my guides have been deleted so just came back to revisit this thread....apologies for not replying sooner.

Both guides were simple text only guides with the most recent deleted posts having had no edits and no error messages when posting.

I think that both had had replies, and I think I recall seeing a message a long time back about something along the lines of only one entry being allowed, but I can't see that message there anymore, so not sure of maybe there was some restriction about mulitple posts about a similar category, i.e. if someone else had already posted an earlier guide on overclocking say, so if theres some filter that picks up on a title and removes later threads with a corresponding word in the title, maybe if the filter only runs periodically, could explain why the posts are being deleted sporadically.....

Just a wild guess...!!!!

I'll re-post the 2 guides again later, my back-up are on my other PC so will do it next time I use it....

Good to hear its being looked into....thanks for the update.

Thanks kaz, I'll let them know.

The one post per person was the way it was done on the old IPB software, and I'm sure it could be done here too but admin have not set it up. It was basically so the section didn't get cluttered with replies. All discussion about guides is really meant to take place in Gen Tech Chat really it and still should. The forum description still says what it used to, mostly.

I'll try and find out if they've found the problem yet.
