A few days ago I tried to remove useless programs and, I'm afraid I removed some drivers for NDIS miniports and WAN miniport (Kaspersky filters), and ever since the appearance enlarged, certain programs do not run properly, the system recovery feature wouldn't go and i had no access to the net. I now have access to the net, but the rest of the problems have not gone away... what should I do?

here are my specs:

Summary
<br
Got a problem with a recent swap of processor. Running Windows XP professional 64, using a Asus A8R-MVP motherboard, Asus something or other 6200 256MB graphics card, 1GB of ram, 160GB main drive and a 300GB secondary drive for audio work. I have 3 M-Audio 1010lt sound cards fitted. The original processor used was an AMD Athlon 64 3500 single core. This configuration was put together 3 years ago, never went wrong, a few times maybe programs would close down, nothing major.
However this is when problems started. I mess around with audio mixing and the current CPU was maxing out with the number of tracks and the VST plugins used. I bought a second hand chip off Ebay (here comes the comments about buying things off Ebay). The chip I got was a AMD Athlon 3800 x2 64 dual core. I plugged it in and the computer saw it without a problem. Then the problems started. The computer became unstable. It could work 2 or three hours fine then reboot or last a few minutes. I had to swap the old processor back in for a project and the computer was fine.
The other day I re-installed Windows and re-formatted the primary drive. it still rebooted. Then I updated the BIOS. I left the computer running a program for a few hours without a problem. I went to do something else, left the computer for a few minutes to find it had rebooted. When I checked the error message it said it was to do with Digital product ID.
Help, what can I do to fix this problem bearing in mind I'm not that computer minded or is it a problem that's not an easy fix?

Hello everyone,

As I mentioned in the title the CPU I have, currently there is a minor but very confusing problem.

When I got the computer and not until just a week earlier I surprisingly found out that the clocked speed of my CPU is 1.25Ghz, by checking through the Properties on My Computer as well as using other softwares such as CPUID and the alike. As we all know the CPU speed of this processor should be somewhere around 2Ghz. For all the time been, it has shown 2.08Ghz but for some weird reason it just showed 1.25Ghz.

In addition, the performance of the CPU does not seem to slow down as I totally cannot distinguish the change in the shown clock speed if I did not visually check it. As such, the actual performance was not changed.

Furthermore, I clearly remember that I did not change any of the settings on the computer, did not open the case and fiddle with the components inside, nor did i do anything that could potentially cause this problem. As you see, this does not effect the performance at all but I still would like to fix the problem and find our what kind of problem it is.

Much thanks,

Hello fellow AMD users, I'm in need of your help.

I have an XP3000+ AMD Athlon (tm) processor, I was wondering if I could upgrade the processor on my motherboard. I'm hoping to install Windows 7 but at the moment it isn't possible as the system will just end up coming to a crawl. I'd like max performance if possible, something that can handle Windows 7 & multiple apps running at once. I have 2.5gb ram installed but its no use if the processor isn't powerful enough to handle it right. All I need, sounds simple but probably isn't is a powerful processor which can fit straight into my motherboard, replace the current processor I have and upgrade my graphic card which isn't as complex as the processor issue thank god.

I don't mind providing more information if needed but please just remember I'll need abit of help, instructions if its einstein stuff lol no problems if its a prog like CPU-Z

This is a seprate issue all together, It came to my attention that my processor is logged on my system info as, AMD Athlon (tm) 1.30GHz, it never use to be that low? I've done abit of googling and seen its a common issue, BIOS settings are default and I've not made any changes to the speed or settings of the system manually

Hi there, i have recently gained an old machine and decided to upgrade it.

the machine was originally fitted with a sempron 2400 processor.

i re installed windows, upgraded the RAM to the max board spec (2Gb of ddr pci2100) and all was fine till i inserted a gforce AGP graphics card. now this caused bad BSOD problems upon reaserching the problem i found it was a driver problem with the NVIDIA drives and uninstalled them going back to the on board graphics. all was well till i got an ATHLON 3000+ (AXDA3000DKV4D) then BSOD problems started AGAIN!! i did some reading and decided to upgrade the boards BIOS to V2.80 (the most recent) as the older versions wernt compatible with this board. and that seemed to to releive the problem. but it hasnt gone away completely

now when i get the BSOD the screen is alled jumbled up and features lines running down the screen. this leads me to think its an on-board graphics problem??!!

my current trains of thought are as follows.

1) try installing a DIFFERENT graphics card (Ie an ATI RADEON) too see if that cures the problem.

2) RAM fault although it works 100% in my mates machine

3) a windows driver/conflict problem, created since the upgrade to the 3000+ and now i need to re-install YET AGAIN!!

4) motherboard/processor bricked

any ideas chaps?? im tearing my hair out now!!

thanks alot

B..

Hi I just joined mainly because I picked up an assrock PC with a AMD 2000+ XP processor on it with onboard graphics and sound it is a very good motherboard I'm very happy with it's performance overall. I have always used AMD processors, think I owned a pentium 3 once but mainly I'm used to AMD processors so I prefer them.

Anyway I don't know if this is related to my motherboard but it came to me 2nd hand with no CD or diagnostic tools so I had to hunt down the drivers at Assrocks website. I bought a 250gb ATA HD to use with it as it had only a 30gb one so i'm not sure if I've gone over the capacity there.

The problem is sometimes when I'm using the PC I get a blue screen and it says this:
An Exception has occured at 0028:C0013B82 in Vxd---. This was called from 0028:002F113 in VxD---. It may be possible to continue normally.

Prior to my using the 250gb hard drive on it's own it usually wasn't possible to continue but since I made it master and reformatted and put a brand new copy of windows 98 with an Me upgrade on it the few times it has happened it has usually been possible to continue. I was also getting an annoying problem whereby If i was in explorer and I ejected my CD rom manually it would go to blue screen even though I wasn't doing using the CD just looking at the icon. This was very annoying as I was like "Yes I know there is no cd in there cos i just took it out myself" you know. Anyway it seems to have been working ok last night but I'm not sure if that will continue.

My question is has anyone had this problem before. Is it a motherboard problem or a memory problem. I'm baffled by this stuff. Thanks for any help ?

**(Sorry for the re-post, I just realized it was in the wrong category)**

Here is my problem (I hope someone can help):

I recently installed an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ (2X200MHz) in my ASUS A7N8X-X mobo. Everything runs just fine under normal conditions. However, when I launch certain games, the system crashes after about 10-15 mins. Other high-demand games run just fine (it actually seems that the lower CPU intensive games have the problems).

I have noticed that if I back the clock speed down to about 175MHz (or less), everything runs great (if a little slow). I believe this is because that is the speed at which the memory defaults to "tighter" timings (i.e. - 3-4-4-7). The RAM that I have installed is kind of cheap (it only supports memory timings of 3-3-3-8 @ 200MHz w/ 1:1 FSB-DRAM ratio).

I have done exhaustive web research on this issue and have run numerous diagnostics to ensure that all of my hardware is performing properly (i.e. - OCCT (CPU, GPU & PSU "stress" tests), memtest, etc.). I have also installed SpeeFan (temperature/voltage monitor) to make sure that everything is running in line with tech. specs. Everything looks good and I have found no obvious errors.

-So, my question for the "experts" is this:

*WILL UPGRADING TO HIGH-PERFOMANCE RAM WITH 'TIGHTER" MEMORY TIMINGS (i.e. - 3-3-3-6 (or better)) FIX THIS PROBLEM?*

I am by no means a computer expert (though my brother who has a C.I.T. degree is close). We have tried everything that we can think of in an attempt to pin down the cause of this instability issue . . . all to no avail! I have exhausted every possible solution that I can come up with and have not been able to fix the problem - I NEED HELP! I am just hoping that someone with some experience and expertise in these matters will read this post and be able to offer some sound suggestions (I am willing to try anything that might work at this point). I just want a decent gaming system that works properly; I can't afford a new one right now.

-Below are my system specifics:

ASUS A7N8X-X ACPI BIOS Rev. 1011
AUSTIN 450W PSU (DR-B450E)
AMD Athlon XP 3000+ (2X200MHz)
*PC3200 DDR 400 RAM (1.5GB)*
ATI Radeon X1650 Pro AGP (256MB)
WDC WD800JB-00JJA0 (HDD0)
ST380215A (HDD1)
LITE-ON DVDRW SHW - 160P6S (not used for gaming)
NVIDIA nForce2 400 Chipset

I am running Windows XP Pro and have all latest BIOS (Pheonix - Award) & Driver updates (I think)

*** Also, it is important to note that this system was running well with my previous AMD Athlon XP 2400+ CPU (if a bit slower) *** (all these same games were playable before) ***

-Let me know if you have any further questions or need more information to assess the problem.

-THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS POST - ANY SUGGESTIONS OR SOLUTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!-

So, since I ordered COD4 recently, I wanted to upgrade my PC (not a complete PC whiz ). So, I chose RAM over CPU (don't have money ATM to buy a new CPU) and decided to add another stick of 512 MB of RAM to my PC (already had 512 MB of RAM before).

Specs:
-ATI Radeon HD 4650, 512 MB of space
-AMD Athlon64 Processor 3000+
-500 gig harddrive (don't ask...)
-Used to be 512 MB of RAM, with both would total 1024 MB of RAM
-Windows XP
-One stick of old RAM, one stick of new RAM

When I booted up my PC with BOTH sticks of RAM, it would freeze at the boot up screen or later on in a program/desktop (about 2-10 minutes later, maybe not even that) and I would have to restart it. Then, with ONE stick of RAM, new or old, it works just fine. Is it the issue that one is older? Are incompatible with one another?

Could use a reply quick as COD4 is here in about 2 days and want to play it at an ok level of detail.

Thank you for any help .

Well I picked myself up a motherboard the other day and was trying to install it and of course I ran into a bunch of problem.

I was running a 2000+ AMD on a M7VIG Proboard with 2 Gigs of ram and was looking to install a 2600+ AMD on a AV3I board.

I switched everything ov er, the ram,the power supply, and even the harddrive.
I knew it was new components to the hardrive and all, but also knew the last time I did this it was like plug and play, it just had me re-register my windows.

Maybe this was my mistake.

SO I had a bench test done on the AV3I so I knew it was responding earlier in the day/

None the less I had everything set up and of course it boots all up and everything, butI kept getting an error message at the top saying that windows could not be loaded.

I figured it was odd and put my M7VIG Pro board back in.

Now everytime my widows loads up I get a quick blue screen that flashes so fast I cant read anything, and when I start up in safemode, before I can do anything it frezes/

Fortunatly I was smart enough to use my camera and tape the blue screen.
One time it was saying something about viruses, then it wassaying stuff about shadowing ram and cache.

I can get further details on what it says if need be.

I did also notice something in the first littlebit you see on the screen, when it telling you memory testing and all.

It says "Primary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed."

I dont think I have ever seen that before.Im not sure what it is either.

Hi,

I'm having issues with my cpu fan being wayy too loud. When I start it up and check the bios it shows the rpms at 3100-3300 while the temperature is sitting at 18-23 degrees. And it stays like this after start up and is just idling doing nothing. The high rpm combied with my grapics card noise makes my cpu unbearable. Just got it today and have had on for only 10 mix at a time max its so loud.

This just doesn't seem right. I've heard about a cool n quiet program, but I don't know if my mother board supports it. I'm not much of a computer whiz but i have common sense. Also i saw somewhere there's an optimizer for the dual core someone. But I don't know if I already have it, when i right click on my processors and go to update driver it says the current driver is fine.

Please help me out. Provide some links or advice, should I get a new fan??? Post a reply here or give me a quick email at yuttyis@msn.com I prefer the latter. Anyways thanks and cheers.

I have an ongoing problem where streaming flash videos sometimes randomly crashes Internet Explorer and my computer along with it. This is the only time these crashes occur. Sometimes it just reboots and sometimes it actually shows a BSOD.

My computer was made, overclocked and tested by a close friend and I am not too hardware savvy. This person is not within communication reach any longer and I would like to know whether this is a common problem with an easy solution. I found a site that stated this is common with ATI drivers but didn't provide a solution. Also the problem extends to updated drivers aswell.

Since I do not see an attach option I have uploaded my system information in a text file here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zvtgxywtjyi

Any help would be appreciated.
specs: amd athlon 64 x2 7750
msi k9a2vm-f v2
2 x 1gb apacer pc 6400
ati r3870 512/256/ddr3

*** when i was using xp sp3 this system was okay with some heating but itw was tolerable. after i upgrade it to vista i noticed an even more heat coming. after exploring the vista environment my system hang up. i reset it but nothing came out.

i noticed that when i remove the memory at dimm 2 slot my system will boot but if i will put memory on dimm 2 slot it goes blank. i swap both memory at dimm 1 slot and its goes well with out memory at dimm 2 slot.

i go to the store where i bought it assuming i had a rpoblem with my motherboard and get it replaced with the new motherboard but with the same processor and memory config, my system goes blank with the 2 dimm slot occupied.

we tried replacing the processor with athlon 64 x2 5000+ with the 2 dimm slot occupied and to our surprice, it goes well. we even swap memory lanes and it goes well also. we therefore conclude that i had a problem with my 7750 processor.

could anybody tell me what hapen to my 7750 processor and what could have caused it? thank you

*** also with my athlon 7750, with the same config, the nb ht speed only reads 1800 mt/s at 2700 core while the athlon 5000+ the nb ht speed reads at 2600 mt/s at 2600 core. does it means 7750 had an issue with its ht or vice versa? i use amd overdrive with this.

does this mean 5000+ is better than 7750? can anybody help me out? thank you
