Been pulling my hairs out on how to fix the above for quite awhile......grrrr!!! Basically no matter which CCC I use the card freezes, resets, generates a SmartSave@ati.com Error Report. Seems to happen more when Child Menu's overlap on Desktop or IE & etc. This issue is well written about on the Internet but Tech support at AMD/ATI has no answer so I hoping BIG time that someone here will have a solution for me. I don't want to just use the graphic driver as some suggest as a fix but the whole CCC package. The card is great outside of this issue but it's a real pain to have the card reset so many times a day. Don't want to go to the Green Side ------------------------- CPU: Intel Duo Core 3.0GHZ |

CRT invalid displaytype has no bearing on the issue. That is caused by video overlays where the overlay is larger than officially supported. Just because that warning message is in the event viewer doesnt mean its the cause of the issue.

Thank you for the reply. Can you explain further ie: faulty hardware as I would like to get some closure on this. The issue occurs when there is a child window which causes the card to reset & generate the error report. Hence I can only conclude it's the graphic card. Also, sometimes there was an infinite loop but the card seems better w/ 8.8 but it still resets about 4x a day. As I said there is alot of discussion out there & Tech Support can't seem to pin things down See as an example - Appreciate your help, Cheers,
