I receive this error/problem "AionClient has stopped working" and the game crashes...as have many others.

See Here: http://na.aiononline.com/forums/welcome/view?articleID=1267&commentID=7#c7

Seems to be fairly narrrowed to ATI Video.

I have a Brand New ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO Motherboard built-in ATI HD Radeon 4200 (512Mb) w/128Mb DDR3 Sideport memory.

None of my attempts to fix have worked including complete format/reinstall of OS(Windows 7 Ultimate x64).

Please someone help advise as Aion Tech support is even baffled...as all attempts from their end to fix have not worked.

MB: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2

GFX: Sapphire 5870

And yes, same error.  Annoying. Luckily you can skip the queue if you log straight back in.

Having read all that I decided to play around with that special Process Explorer they messed around with.

and I watched "Virtual Size" for Aion.bin

I went to Eltnen Fortress, and saw that the application reserved itself a bigger chunk of Virtual Size, kept running around like crazy watching as many people as possible, and the "Virtual Size" kept going up to almost 2GB.

Then poof, the CrySystem.dll error

Aion.bin reserved itself up to 2 038 952K

The second it tries to increase that size to over 2GB the application closes with the dreaded CrySystem.dll error...  That's why it tries to write to adress 00000000 as it's trying to write outside the 2GB boundary, and it's either not allowed by Windows, or it can't handle it itself.

So now, is this a problem with Windows capping what Aion can reserve? Or can Aion simply not handle more than 2GB?  Even on a 64bit system with a 64bit Windows ????

Either way please fix it and pretty damn soon would be nice...

There is no solution from NCSoft that will work....as of yet...I have been in contact with them for weeks now...and none of the attempts from their part have worked. NCSoft finally came back and said try a different video card to see if that fixes the problem...as they cannot help fix the problem on their end.   AMD/ATI said that the problem sounds like a memory problem or software incompatability...possibly CPU. I have even contacted ASUS, manufacturerof my motherboard, and they have stated a driver issue or software/hardware incompatability.......possible defective video/board. As we know there are so many of us with the problem...this is highly unlikely we all have defective video/hardware.

SOMEONE! Please resolve this issue!!! Soon.    Thanks in advance.

misterpro, I thank you for your post. Although I never really post on forums, I do read the AMD / AionSource forums alot as I'm a gamer like everyone else on these forums. I've been having the same issue you are having and that most are having with aion crashes but it seems that ati and nvidia alike are having the issues from everything I've talked to.

Your post actually sparked a theory of mine as to what the problem might be (I like numbers, they make sense) . I won't say what it is just yet but last night I was able to fix my text problem at the very least ingame, where the text was kinda cut off in every mode and screen rez I've tried. I run 2x 4870's with 8x AA, Bloom 1 and maxed out on everything running very smoothly with the exception of the crashing as we are having here and the text problem that I've seen alot of people on the Aionsource forums. I'm talking about the quest text, not chat text.

After reading your post last night, again it sparked a theory and I was able to at least fix my text problem... leaving AA and Bloom on (some people said AA was causing that problem). So needless to say, 1 problem down. Soon as I get off of work today, I will go through a round of testing and see if what I'm thinking is the case and if so, I promise I will post it here first If not... oh well, was worth a try since no one and any company can seem to figure it out.

Thanks for that info. MrPro.

Makes sense now.  A 32 bit app. is restricted to 2GB of address space, ragrdless how much RAM you have, or if your using a 64bit OS .. it doesnt matter.  A 32bit app is limited to its 2gb space.

 Some more info here :

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366778%28VS.85%29.aspx#memory_limits

So that, with your findings explains why its crashing.

But, how do we fix the issue?  I would guess its a coding issue thats needs to be addressed in a furture update.

I have the ati 4650 1gig video card and have this problem also.

64 bit

1g ati 4650 vid card

4 gig ram

quad core processer 3.2

Everytime I am in an area where there are several people I crash

I am so tired of this.  Not sure if it is an ATI issue or an Aion issue.  If I have to buy another brand of video card to play this game I am going to be really upset.  I just bought this comptuer to play aion, one of the reasons that I did was because I liked ati.  This is very quickly changing.

Someone pls figure this out.

Its a bug in the modified cry engine AION uses.

try any other game .. (thats a 32bit app) and you'll have no isse.

Nvidia users have the same problem.  Its not our ATI GPUS , nor is it Nvidias.

Whats interesting about this issue, is that I played for several weeks with only an occasional crash.  Now after the last patch this past week,  I know if I go to a city and use a vendor or two its going to crash.

In areas like Verteron where channels are available to switch too I will move 4 or 5 channels, with fewer people around crashing is reduced by at least 80%.

Yes NCsoft this is your problem,  fix it or you will find lots of us leaving this game, incase you don't understand what that means,  LOST REVENUE!  lots of it.

Its definetly something on Aions side, Where it seems alot of you guys are having trouble in cities I just crash anywhere, My new pc can crank out 160fps (or so aions fps claims) and in the middle of nowhere and it'll crash, I thinks they just have wayy to much detail in game, used to use a asus laptop with a 3200 hd in it and I could play fine with the exception of some areas and veiws and the screen would black out  until i rotated the camera.
