I have a 3870 x2 with 2 Hanns-G monitors. Everything worked fine in Win XP. I just installed Win 7 (legal copy), and have 2 problems. My second monitor stays black, though I do get the no signal message after turning it on, and for some reason, my main monitor shows as a CRT in CCC. I have tried drivers for the card and monitors through Windows update and drivers/CCC from the manufacturers for both as well. The second monitor has not come on since installing Win 7. I've noticed several people saying theirs worked until installing something. Mine has not. Does anyone have ideas? I'm about 10 hours actively into this problem with no solution. |

For giggles, I'd swap dvi ports to see if it's the cable or monitor or gpu. The only time I had this was when my monitor suffered an unexpected connection loss (cable came unplugged while on). Unplugging the monitor from main power for a few minutes reset it's circuitry and all was well thereafter. ------------------------- Spigon: Phenom II 955BE @ 3.2, Arctic Freezer 64 Pro, Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5, Asus 3870x2, ASUS Xonar D2X, 4 x 1gig OCZ2N1066SR2GK @800, Antec Truepower New 750, Antec 900 case. Changing the port did allow the monitor to come on. No idea why that matters in Win 7 but oh well. My monitors still show as CRTs, and the second monitor doesn't have the same option for resolution. It's not a big deal, but it makes me wonder about full compatibility. |

That's very peculiar. I have win7 prerelease version 7100 and using dual monitors one DVI the other HDMI and everything works as expected. I do believe it's using Cat 9.8. If you haven't tried that version it might be worth it. ------------------------- Spigon: Phenom II 955BE @ 3.2, Arctic Freezer 64 Pro, Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5, Asus 3870x2, ASUS Xonar D2X, 4 x 1gig OCZ2N1066SR2GK @800, Antec Truepower New 750, Antec 900 case. I think I will. My current version is 9.10, and tbh, I don't like the interface in this version. I have to jump around too much when the old version had everything in a list on the left. I hope this isn't a permanent choice for CCC. |

Don't get your hopes up, I'm thinking it's here to stay and I do agree with your feelings. IIRC they changed over with cat 9.6 so 9.5 still has the old menus but how well it would work with win7 is debatable.

Well thank you very much for the dialog. Maybe this will help a few more people. With Win 7 so new, there will surely be an update in the next few months addressing the bagillion bugs that everyone is having. I'm just glad Win 7 installed almost everything else so well. |
