I have a Samsung 933BW LCD that has been working fine on an old Dell Inspiron (onboard intel video).

I bought a Sony Vaio VGN-FW465J which came with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650.  Using the same VGA cable, I connected the Samsung monitor to the Sony Vaio, and I get a fuzzy image with text bleeding.

I have tried:
Updating LCD driver from Samsung website.
Updating video card driver from both ATI website, and sony website.
Triple checking the native resolution of the samsung (1440x900).
Using the Catalyst Control Center to force the 1440x900, 32bit color, 60Hz refresh rate onto the Samsung.
3 different OS's (Vista x32 came with laptop, Windows 7 RC x32 - forgot which build, and now Windows 7 Professional Retail x64).  All 3 OS's with fresh format, no dual boots or partitions)

None of these have solved my blurry Samsung woes.

Here's my info:

ATI Mobility Radeon 4650
8.635.0.0 (8/4/2009)

Samsung 933BW

OS: Windows 7 Professional Retail 64bit

What other info should I provide?

vga cable?

try a digital connection - not analog and the problem likely goes away!

Samsung is prone to exhibit some problems with the analog port

That is correct, that and the fact that televisions are meant to display graphics and not text (except for CC, but that's different) . Using a HDMI cable should solve the problem.
