Tried to do a clean install to Windows 7 yesterday on a brand new hard drive, and while I was aware of the fact that the X800 chipset is legacy, I was at least encouraged by the fact that the Vista drivers might work.

I attempted to install v9.8 of the drivers as recommended, but according to the log, it detected a X200 series card and did not install any drivers.  From what I could tell, it installed the installer and the C++ stuff.  The actual directory where I asked for the installation to take place is empty.

When I go into Device Manager to attempt a manual update, there does not even appear to be an entry for the card.  Under the sound/video/controllers section was only my on-board sound card.  The card itself appears to work with the Win7 default VGA drivers, but I can't get it to the native resolution for my monitor.

As a lark, I also tried the 9.10 drivers and got the same result, except that the log shows that it detected a bunch more devices, but none with a name, just hex values.

No problems with using this card under WinXP SP3, even with older drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

- frank
