Hi guys,

I'm running an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 with a Radeon 3870 card. The card worked fine for a while but is now constantly overheating in any graphically intensive game, even those that should be well within its capabilities. Idle temperatures are about 50c, but as soon as I start anything above Counter strike 1.6 level, 5-15 mins into the game artifacts show, the game freezes and the graphic card restarts. The temperature gauge shows 100-110c at that point.

Fixing the fan at 100% through Rivatuner did not take care of the issue.

Can somebody help me with this?

Heya,..

Take off the HSF assembly and clean it, make sure it's free of dust .. re-apply some good thermal paste like Arctic Cooling's MX2 or MX3 .. try that to start with.
