Hi guys, I'm running an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 with a Radeon 3870 card. The card worked fine for a while but is now constantly overheating in any graphically intensive game, even those that should be well within its capabilities. Idle temperatures are about 50c, but as soon as I start anything above Counter strike 1.6 level, 5-15 mins into the game artifacts show, the game freezes and the graphic card restarts. The temperature gauge shows 100-110c at that point. Fixing the fan at 100% through Rivatuner did not take care of the issue. Can somebody help me with this? |

Heya,..
Take off the HSF assembly and clean it, make sure it's free of dust .. re-apply some good thermal paste like Arctic Cooling's MX2 or MX3 .. try that to start with.
