First I'd like to say that I am rather inexperienced compared to most people here.

I have just recently assembled my first computer, with help of two good friends who gave me advise on certain hardware items.

My Problem: I have tried running Aion and after several seconds my screen turns some random color or gets stripes all over it. Same thing happened with the Crysis  demo. It doesn't matter if I play at highest or at lowest settings it always crashes.

I tried playing NFSU2 at highest, and there is no lag no nothing, perfect gameplay with everything maxed ingame and in the CCC.

I reinstalled drivers at least 10 times, also tried with Driver Sweeper in safe mode. Problem happens on both Vista and Win 7.

System Specs:

XFX Radeon HD 4890 Xtreme 1GB PCIe w/ Dual Link DVI

Ultra LSP750 750W Power Supply

MSI 790GX-G65 AMD 790 socket AM3 motherboard

AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition AM3 CPU

Patriot Viper 2x2048MB DDR3 ram 1333MHz

I'd be glad for any ideas, because I am very hopeless right now.

If other games are ok then it may not be your drivers. There have been reports of problems from other users of Aion in the massive multiplayer on line section of the forums look there (use search at top of this page but do not use numbers in the search (NOT EVEN CARD MODEL because search is sh*t)) and see if its similar issue or if someone found a solution. You could also submit a support ticket to see if ATI have any ideas. Sometimes the symptoms you describe can be memory issues but I am not sure, so a search on that topic may be helpful also. Good luck. Maybe someone who knows more than me will have better advice. (Just one last thing I have found that with some games I have had to set everything I can in catalyst to 'Application managed' and run the game windowed Like fallout3 a couple of drivers back)

Thanks for the advise

There are several problems associated with Aion but it seems like I am the only one crashing this way, which leads me to think that eitehr I do something wrong or the card has a problem.

My friend advised me to download the crysis demo and see there, same problem.

Also when I crash the sound keeps playing and the computer is still reacting to the keys I am pressing, it's just that it's not displaying anything other than lines all over my screen.

I'm gonna contact xfx today to see if they have any ideas and otherwise maybe send my card in and exchange it for a new one.

I am having the same problem. In COD6 it crashes and a static looking like screen shows up with sounds still on. Also I did a benchmark test and I had the same problem.
