Cross fired 3870X2's on 64bit Vista Ultimate, suddenly upon reboot I get "No ATI graphics driver is installed, or the ATI driver is not functioning properly. Please install the ATI driver appropriate for your ATI hardware."
Having seen my odd share of computer issues I figure "this happens". However when I go to download the driver software from here http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=vista64/common-vista64 I get a 403 access denied error.
So, first off has anyone seen this before and know how to fix it? Secondly, where can I download the driver software without getting a 403 error? |

The download error is fixed (ATI doesn't like your browser to have referals off)
The original error is still outstanding though in case anyone has seen this. |

Ended up fixing it by removing ATI and Catyclyst everything from Add/Remove Programs and uninstalling all display adapters from Device Manager, then rebooting.
Upon rebooting my screen was not only at a horrible resolution, but also dark, as it murky water I could barely see anything dark. Monitor brightness at 100 percent. Pushing my way through the darkness I kind of half blindly poked through Catyclyst 8.8 installation, rebooted, and I am now up and running again. |

Update
This keeps happening periodically, and I am sick of fixing my icons.
Does anyone know what may be causing it or does anyone have recommendations to further diagnose the problem? |

Edit: Correction, I had problems with this method, so what I did was did the ATI uninstall w/ no reboot, drivecleaner on the ati methods, reboot in safemode, delete all the ATI folders (appdata, program files*, C:/ati, C:/Windows/ati* C:/windows/system32/ati* ..system32/drivers/ati*, then for good measure i uninstalled the display adapters for em. rebooted in normal fashion, easy cleaner, then i installed the catylst again and all was well.
