Hi,

I've just recently purchased two 4890s and I'm slightly worried about the temperature of one card.

As you should be able to see from the above pictures included they are very close to one another - cutting off airflow: the top card in particular gets the hottest.

A).The temperature of the top card is: 83 degree Celsius (°C) -- when Idle.

B.) Temperature of the bottom card is: 57 degree Celsius (°C) -- when Idle.

When playing games the top card (A) reaches 100 degrees Celsius (°C) and slightly above.

Does anyone have any good advice on a cooling solution? ..water cooling perhaps?

Note: the Crossfire bridge included does not allow me to move it to another slot - to allow for improved airflow.

 Kind regards, Nomadic

Odd for an Asus RoG motherboard those slots should be a bit further apart.. really only solution would be to get a mother board with the slots further apart for those nice stock coolers already on the sapphire cards. But alternatively ya water cooling would be about the only other option with no rear exhaust vents on those cards.

Heya,..

You can get longer crossfire bridges off ebay if you wish to keep your warranty on your cards intact .. weird how there wasn't one supplied with the mainboard.

yup getting a longer crossfire bridge would be the cheapest way to go !

but if you have money/warranty to burn  a couple of fullcoverage water blocks would work great !

both of my 4890's never go over 35 c at full load for hours

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for your input.

Unfortunately I can't move one graphics card to another slot, on closer inspection.

As for a longer Crossfire bridge (for anyone interested) one can be purchased at asus.com.

I believe full coverage water blocks is the way to go for me.

Thanks again, Nomadic
