For the last few updates (maybe all 9_*) Catalyst Control Center won't run. It starts, as does mom.exe, but both terminate with no error, and no window appearing.

My bypass is to remove every ATI* entry from Add/Remove programs, then install from scratch (including my video settings, lost in the process).

Then everything works normally… until the next update. I've opened a support incident with  AMD, but I thought I'd see if there is anyone here who knows how to work around this problem.

Check Windows Update if there are any updates for .NET Framework. You know it's needed for Control Center to function do you not?

I hate the dreaded MOM.Implementation error!

I had to reinstall Windows.

Perhaps uninstall .Net Frameworks and reinstall them then install the driver?

I'm having the same problem with ther mom error message. Computer was running fine, so i uptade the ccc to the lates version, and while playing need for speed shift it started to crash after just 5 minutes of playing. So the i restored my pc to a previous ccc update point and the the error message starded to appear.
I tryed to reinstall all the drivers but nothing worked.

Any ideas besides .Net Frameworks (which i will try) ???

tks

I had this problem but this procedure fixed it for me, hopefully it will work for you too. Posted it in another thread too about the same problems.

Uninstall CCC from control panel.

use drivercleaner.net to CLEAN THE CCC FILES ONLY.

Be careful here! Do not use it to uninstall all ati products amd drivers or it will screw up your system by deleting vital inf files that cannot be reinstalled in anyway apart from whoel os reinstall or system restore. (yes personal experience here unfortunately!)

install CCC from a component downlaod from the driver page.

Apparently the normal uninstal does not remove some stuff from registry that needs to be removed.

Hope it works for you.
