using win 7 pro 64 cleanest fresh install and windows updated, 2x 4870's, 9.10 and dx (aug2009).

rebooted yesterday and tonight.  in both cases, the manual fan control was found to be unticked for the primary card after having ticked to lower temp while foldingathome with gpu.  there is no manual fan control for the secondary.

after the initial install, box was ticked to set up the foldingathome.  with vista 64, that setting never changed.  now i'm discovering temps in the 80's celsius instead of the 50's i was experiencing prior to reboot.  after re-ticking yesterday post-discovery, tonight's reboot resulted in the same unticked box and high temps.  ati overdrive continues to show unlocked and enabled and at stock speeds.

am i missing some must-installs windows update has not provided during its search?  .net framework that isn't included in the newfangled win 7?  visual c++ that isn't included in the 9.10 suite or the newfangled win 7?  help?
