I can't run Catalyst Control Center, application window open and close after 2 seconds, repeating the process indefinitely. ATI tray icon appears and disappears as the CLI starting/closing.
The Add/Remove Programs reports Microsoft .Net 3.5, 2 and 1 installed on my system.
I tried to uninstall/reinstall Catalyst 8.6 several times and clear registry entries with no success.
Catalyst 8.5 works fine.

My configuration:

Asus P4S800D-X
Intel P4 3GHz
3GB RAM PC3200 dual channel
Sapphire X1950 GT *AGP* 256MB

Windows XP Pro SP3
NOD32 3.0
ZoneAlarm 7.0

Hello, I also have this problem.

I have recently installed Catalyst 8.6, and when I want to open the Catalyst Control Center, the splash screen appears and closes normally, then the CCC window appears and is usable for about 2 seconds, then it quits. About 10 seconds later, the CCC window reopens by itself and closes again 2 seconds later, and so on.
The Display Driver is working fine, and the ATI icon is present in the systray.
I have already tried uninstalling everything from ATI, removing .NET framework (all versions), resintalling .NET framework and reinstalling Catalyst 8.6, but the problem remains the same.

I have also tried to use DriverCleaner, making a thorough reinstall of Catalyst 8.6, but the problem is still present.

However, I have additional information : if I first kill MOM.EXE and CCC.EXE processes (started automatically with Windows), and then launch "Debug_Runtime.bat" and then "Debug_Dashboard.bat" (located in C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static), the CCC opens normally and stays open ; You can then use it, waiting for a better solution from ATI/AMD.

I have opened a ticket on AMD support, and the last answer is to use Catalyst 8.5

One thing working : Display Driver from Catalyst 8.6 + CCC 8.5.

Thanks for caring about this problem.

Sincerely,

TheProphet.

Hi TheProphet,

I've tried to launch "Debug_Runtime.bat" / "Debug_Dashboard.bat" and CCC runs ok, but I can't set overdrive function properly since RivaTuner's hardware monitoring shows the default clock for both core and memory.

I'll keep using 8.5 drivers since I haven't noted any improvements in 8.6 version.

Thanks for the help.
