Query
I'd like to get a dual monitor setup going as I have a spare monitor around, so is it possible to run two VGA displays from a single Dual-Link DVI output on this graphics card?

One of the monitors also had a DVI input (but I don't have a cable at the moment), so could I also try a DVI/VGA pairing?  Oh and also the monitors are different resolutions (1680x1050 and 1920x1080), would that be a problem?

And you wouldn't just use 2 different outputs for the two antique VGA monitors because?

Because there's only 1 DVI output on the card which can be used for a VGA monitor.

There's also an HDMI and 2 DP 1.2 outputs on the back too, but those are no good for a VGA monitor.  Now mabye I could run a DVI to VGA output as I am now and then a DP to DVI output at the same time?

But I'm not really too sure how this works (as I'm a dual monitor noob), hence why I'm asking for some clarification.

Yeah... unless you want to have the same display mirrored across both monitors, then I think adapters are about the only way to go here.  If you wanted mirroring, you could just get some kind of splitter box for that one DVI cable.  If you want different displays... then you've gotta have different sources.

Ok thanks, so I can run the DVI output on the card to the VGA monitor and then run a mini DP (or HDMI) to the DVI capable monitor?

So all I need is something like this?

or this?
