So I have 2 6950 Toxic's in X-fire.They were running hot while gameing.Took them apart and noticed that the thermal pads across the cards wern't even making contact.The pads that are parallel to the length are but they are only contacting plastic and if the other one's were contactig it would be plastic as well.Should have taken pic's.I went ahead and put PK3 on the core and dropped 7c at idle but only 3c at full load and they cool down way faster.The Fan on 1 card revs way up when i first start the pc and runs at 2075-80 for about 3-4 min.Have TRIXX & CCC.Should CCC fan control be set to manual for Trixx fan settings to work?Seem's like they are working against each-other.I've read about how to use the 2 together and thought i was doing evrything right cause they was doing good together for awhile.These cards together blast through anything.Not liking the pad's not contacting and the ones that do touch plastic.Thinking about a couple 7870's.Any help would be appriecieated.Thanks

That's the problem.I bought them from a guy I get parts for systems i fix and sell.They were new and sealed and i got them both for $400.00 when everyone was going crazy for the 7900's.If ya can find them now,they're around $275 used.If there's an after-market cooler for them i can't find em.Thinking about doing some modding but haven't ever done anythig like that on anythig like these before.under normal use they only hit 50c now after the PK3 They was anywhere from 58c-65c.Not gameing til i come up with some kind of fix.
